If you're like us, you love the outdoors. But sometimes you want a little more luxury, maybe a hot tub, or event breakfast at your door. Since it's almost that time of year when BBQ and beaches rule, we decided to put together a list of the some of our favorite glamping grounds you can venture to this summer along the California coast.
From secluded yurts to rustic cabins, this list will take you someplace amazing, don't forget to bring a Tree Hut watch, sunscreen, and more than one towel.
An hour and a half from foggy San Francisco, Boon sits in the stunning redwood national forest where you can spend those 90 degree days, (yes it gets that hot) poolside sipping rose, or cool off in the old Russian River. With a typical day consisting of breakfast delivered to your door, hiking in Armstrong National Park, or even a quick drive out to Bodega Bay for clam chowder and white wine, there is no doubt you won't want to leave.
Located along the Big Sur coastline, Treebone Resort offers breathtaking views of one of the most beautiful areas in California. The resort has 16 reservable yurts and tents options for your inner Hemingway. Equipped with a sushi bar, heated pool, and a hot tub, it will be easy to melt away the stress of our wet winter.
El Capitan, or El Cap, as the locals call it, is a small beach community just north of Santa Barbara. Slightly more rugged, El Cap is a beautiful escape from the inner city blues and suffocating traffic of Los Angeles. Whether you are going south from San Francisco to LA, or north from San Diego to Oregon, El Cap will indeed be a fantastic place to kick up your feet after 5 hours in a hot car.
If a quick getaway in comfort is what you are need then look no further than Costanoa Lodge. A few hours south of San Francisco, the lodge features hiking, easy access to beaches and even its general store. You can choose between cozy cabins and luxury tents, giving you that camping feels with all the comforts of a four-star hotel.
Now something a little closer to home. Steep Ravine is tucked away on the rocky coastline of Stinson beach just a short drive north of San Francisco. This is the perfect place for that long overdue romantic getaway.
