Heart-Warming Winter Facts | Watches For Winter Season

Heart-Warming Winter Facts

Winter is a fascinating time of year! Whether you enjoy cozying up and watching Xmas movies or going out and playing in the snow, there’s a winter activity for everyone. We gathered a bit of Winter trivia for you to chat about this chilly season.

1. PEOPLE BORN DURING WINTER ARE HAPPIER.

According to the 2011 research published in the Journal of Affective Disorder, people who came into the world during winter are “less likely to have irritable temperaments.”

2.  PINK SNOW EXISTS.

It’s called pink watermelon snow and it has a sweet smell and taste to it! But no, that does not mean you can eat it. Its rosy hue is possible because of algae.

3. PLENTY OF FLOWERS BLOOM IN WINTER!

You may think there’s not much you can do for your garden when the weather gets chilly, but that’s not exactly the case! Try growing winter pansies, lenten roses, winter aconite, and snowdrops!

4.  THE LARGEST SNOWFLAKE EVER WAS 15 INCHES WIDE AND 8 INCHES THICK!

As you know, snowflakes are usually small and delicate. In 1887, the largest snowflake ever recorded was found (allegedly) by a ranch owner in Fort Keogh Montana.

5.  THE LARGEST SNOWBALL FIGHT INCLUDED 7,681 PEOPLE.

In 2016, more than seven thousand people participated in the largest snowball fight ever in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada!
