People of Treehut: Creator and Artist Rustic Bones
The people and places that inspire Treehut, take many forms. They craft many things and travel often. Every once in a while we take the time to sit down with the creators and arts in our community to learn from them and find out why they do what they do.
This week we sat down with Jessica Bubb. The creative mind behind the Instagram profile @rusticbones. Here is what she had to say about growing up, travel, love and making memories that last a lifetime.
TH: Where did you grow up and what were your hobbies and obsessions as a kid?
JB: I grew up in a small country town in Upstate NY. Growing up my two favorite things were photography and basketball. As I grew older, I realized I love expressing myself through art (painting, clothing, photos, etc.). I learned I’m more introverted and I would instead express myself in those ways.
TH: Where do you call home now?
JB: I currently live in Denver, CO.
TH: Do you have a favorite set of words or quote you keep close to the heart?
JB: I have so many favorites! Here are a couple of my favorite ones right now-
“Pause and remember— Every situation in life is temporary. So, when life is good, make sure you enjoy and receive it fully. And when life is not so good, remember that it will not last forever and better days are on the way.”
- Jenni Young
Miracles happen every day, change your perception of what a miracle is and you'll see them all around you.
- Jon Bon Jovi
TH: If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one quality or ability, what would it
JB: To be able to heal people.
TH: Is there something that you’ve dreamed of doing for a long time?
JB: My dream last year was to go to Hawaii, and I’m so grateful it was able to happen this year! I’m currently just trying to love the small moments in life right now, and not concentrate on any big dreams to accomplish.
TH: Who, or what inspires you most?
JB: Quotes, the Earth, freedom.
